Welcome all to the 2023 Poetry Gabriola AGM, Monday, February 13th 6:30 pm … this time upstairs at NOVA Art & Craft Boutique in the Village.

It was live and in person for the first time in two years, and heaven knows we needed it. After a short AGM, several island poets once again stood to the podium and delivered. Here’s Bill Black, holding forth to the beep-bwop-boop of GMO, the Gabriola Micro-Synth Orchestra (Dinah D, Alex Varty, Andreas Kahre, Trevor Gear).

In addition, ChatGPT made a special appearance, generating poetry on the fly in response to style and subject prompts from the audience, and read in fine voice by Alex. Good fun hearing the AI come for all the poet jobs!
